Who is Andermatt Biocontrol?
Andermatt Biocontrol is one of the leading biocontrol companies worldwide. Founded more than 25 years ago by Dr. Martin Andermatt and Dr. Isabel Andermatt, Swiss-based Andermatt Biocontrol is part of the family- and employee owned Andermatt Holding. Andermatt Biocontrol has subsidiaries in Europe, South Africa, Brazil, Canada and the USA.
What does Andermatt Biocontrol do?
Andermatt Biocontrol’s key expertise lies in the development and production of baculoviruses, entomopathogenic nematodes and beneficial insects. In 1988, Andermatt Biocontrol launched Madex for the biological control of the codling moth (Cydia pomonella), based on a Cydia pomonella granulovirus (CpGV). This was the first granulovirus-based product available worldwide. Since then, Andermatt Biocontrol has sought to provide biological alternatives to chemical pesticides, such as beneficial insects, microbial control products and traps.
Andermatt Biocontrol has registered several biocontrol products from different suppliers, which are being distributed successfully worldwide. Andermatt Biocontrol distributes PHP products in North Africa, South America and Europe. We are in the process of further extending these international distribution networks.
